Grades 3-4: Week of 10/30/23

This week, students had a chance to do a mini-project on continents, oceans, lines of longitude and lines of latitude. It was a great time for them to show me what they have learned. Ask them what they used to make it.

In Art, the students learned about the Mexican holiday “Dia de los Muertos” – ask them what it means (Day of the Dead). Then they created a sugar skull drawing using symmetry as an important component.

This week was history week in Music, and we finished up learning about the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the musical instruments, traditions, and genres connected to this country. Our performers were Yair on the piano, Sasha dancing, and Ramona on the piano as well. The mimi award winners were Yair, Zippy, Riley, and Ramona!

In Hebrew, we had our clothing and colors quiz and then started our new topic: common/basic verbs. We will want to use them in sentences when speaking, in our class conversations, and in writing. In Judaics, we learned a few stories from Parshat Hashavuah “Vayeira,” which as usual, the 3rd grade got to perform and the 4th got to write in their Parsha Diary.
