Today is the 34th day of the counting of the omer, yesterday was Lag B'Omer and if you are interested in the details, you will enjoy Sadie's Lag B'Omer Mystery, read by Morah Marisol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THL_mUjUE1Y

Watch Morah Lana read Eric Carle's The Hungry Caterpillar and do the actions along with the story (including some yoga moves). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYJ2IaSEEQg&t=3s

Watch Morah Haley read The Bad Seed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H73dB_p4MCs

Art:

After watching Morah Haley read The Bad Seed, your child can make a sunflower collage. Have your child glue sunflower seeds, or black beans, in a circle to make the center of the flower on a blue piece of paper. Using a pipe cleaner, or green piece of paper, your child can make a stem and glue it on as well. The petals of the flower can be made using a short pasta, rotini or ziti looks nice. Have your child glue them around the seeds in the center to complete a sunflower!

Number:
Place some beans in a bowl.  Make a few caterpillars - a four caterpillar, a six caterpillar, an eight caterpillar, a ten caterpillar... (higher numbers if your child would like). Count and point to each bean as you count the caterpillar. Try to stick with even numbers, but it's OK if your child makes an 'odd number' caterpillar. Then place a crayon, or small strip of paper vertically and divide the beans, placing one bean at a time on either side of the vertical (butterfly's body)...' one for you, one for you, oh, there's more...one for you, one for you...' until the caterpillar is all used up. This way you use the caterpillar to create the butterfly wings, as the caterpillar changes into a butterfly. Turn another caterpillar into a butterfly, by essentially dividing the caterpillar and changing it into a butterfly (subconscious, playful introduction to the concept of division). Remember there are two sets of butterfly wings.

Gross Motor - Simon Says/ Dad says (or name of the leader):

This game requires listening for a certain phrase, and moving only when the leader includes 'Simon Says'. This is another game that works on controlling impulses and players can take turns being the leader.
