Grades 7-8: Week of 3/18/24

Students in Social Studies took a big test on the Holocaust & WW2. We also began our unit on the Cold War era, which will be the first historical analysis that is thematic rather than chronological: we will study the politics, the arms race, the space race, ‘hot spots,’ Civil Rights, and other events of the decades between the 1940’s and 1980’s.

Using our studies on the Cold War, students in Civics will examine the world currently and compare and contrast topics in the news.

This week in Art, the 8th graders painted their groggers while the 7th graders worked on superlatives for the yearbook.

This week in Music, we got to learn about music in Switzerland taught by Max & Teddy, and we learned about storytelling through music taught by Miriam. Eleanor also gave a beautiful piano performance! Our Mimi Award Winners were Raphael and Toyba!
