Grades 3-4: Week of 2/12/24

In Social Studies, third graders are learning about the geography of the United States. We focused on why cities are more populated near the coast and less people live in the middle of the US. As for fourth grade, they have been looking more closely at the geography of New York.

In Science, 3rd graders learned about tornadoes and blizzards. They will tell you why Tuesday’s snow storm was not a blizzard.

This week in Music was History day, and in honor of the Lunar New Year, we took notes on ancient China and the balance of music and nature. We also got a performance from Ofir, Shlomit, Anya, and Daniella. The Mimi Award winners were Gilad, Shlomit, and Ramona!

This week in Judaics we heard about Parshat Terumah, and we shared stories we wrote related to rules from the previous Parasha, Parshat Mishpatim. In Hebrew, each class continued with its unit’s vocabulary according to the unit’s theme, and we also worked on how to ask questions in Hebrew. As always, we are constantly adding more Hebrew songs to our Hebrew songs list, which is excitingly growing.
